The Journey Behind the Pages
Welcome! This website serves as a companion to “Her Life Through My Eyes,” offering a deeper look into Tiare’s life and spirit. When we lost her in 2005, it felt as though my world fell silent. Yet, I knew I couldn’t remain in that emptiness—I still had two children who needed me to guide and support them through their own grief. A decade later, I began recording memories of Tiare, determined to ensure her story would not fade away. What started as a simple chronicle of her life quickly transformed into an emotional journey, marked by both sorrow and moments of healing, especially as I revisited the events of her last summer and the circumstances of her passing. The weight of loss was immense and balancing that grief with the responsibility of nurturing her brother and sister led me to pause my writing. I wanted them to grow up illuminated by her memory, not overshadowed by it.
In early 2024, with both children grown and forging their own paths, I returned to Tiare’s story. The outcome is a heartfelt collection of personal memories and cherished anecdotes from family and friends. Compiling these recollections has been both challenging and deeply rewarding.
